We currently ship to addresses within the United States. Orders are typically processed within 2–4 business days of purchase. Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.
Because every bottega ships its own pieces separately from Italy, shipping is calculated per workshop based on the size and weight of what you're ordering from them, rather than one flat rate for your whole order. You'll see the exact cost for each shipment at checkout before you pay.
We don't hold inventory in a warehouse. Every piece is made by the bottega that carries it, only once it's ordered. That's deliberate: nothing sits on a shelf collecting dust waiting to be sold.
The tradeoff is that if your order includes items from more than one workshop, those items won't arrive together. Each piece ships directly from its bottega in Italy as soon as it's finished, so you'll receive a separate shipping confirmation and tracking number for each workshop represented in your order. Production and transit times can also vary slightly between botteghe.
We are working toward international shipping. If you are outside the United States and interested in ordering, please contact us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Every order ships directly from the bottega in Italy that made it, so each shipment clears US customs on its way to you. As of a 2025 policy change, the United States has suspended duty-free treatment for low-value imports, so US customs duties or taxes may apply to any order, regardless of size. These are assessed and collected by the courier at delivery, not charged by us at checkout, and are the customer's responsibility.
Because items from different botteghe ship separately, each shipment is assessed on its own. We'll show this notice at checkout for every order so you know to expect it.
If a single shipment from one bottega is valued over $2,500, whether from one high-value piece or several items ordered together, US Customs requires a more formal entry process than smaller packages go through, which can mean additional paperwork and time before delivery. This is uncommon, but worth knowing if you're placing a larger order.
Every piece at Bottega Del Vecchio is individually commissioned and handcrafted by master artisans in Italy specifically for your order. We do not warehouse mass inventory or pull pre-made goods from shelves.
Because each piece is custom-made and exported through official international customs declarations from the European Union to the United States, our independent artisan workshops cannot accept return shipments once packages depart the EU. Consequently, all orders are final sale once production begins.
To ensure you select the ideal piece, our concierge team is readily available via our contact form prior to ordering. We are delighted to answer questions regarding leather temper, measurements, capacity, or color nuances, consulting directly with the workshops on your behalf.
Because of the authentic handmade nature of Italian vegetable-tanned leather and artisanal craftsmanship, subtle natural variations in grain, texture, and patina are expected hallmarks of genuine leathercraft and are not considered defects.
While bespoke commissions cannot be returned for buyer's remorse, your purchase is completely safeguarded against issues in transit or manufacturing. If an item arrives damaged, has a defect, or is not what you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and packaging. We will promptly coordinate a replacement or full refund at zero additional cost to you.
