Old Angler

Full-grain leather goods, finished in the old Florentine quarter.

Old Angler's story starts in 1957, when a young Luciano Lucenti began working leather by hand in the heart of Florence.

The flood that devastated the city in 1966 took his original workshop with it, and Lucenti rebuilt in nearby Pontassieve, where the atelier still stands today.

In 1990, Lucenti's daughter Elisabetta and her husband Mario Bartolini joined him to formalize the business as Old Angler. The family kept the whole process in house, from full grain, vegetable tanned leather and traditional Florentine Cuoio to cutting and hand stitching under one roof rather than sending work out piece by piece.

By 1998 they were among the first Italian leather workshops to earn formal quality certification for it, a standard they still hold themselves to today.

Tuscany Leather

Full-grain and vegetable-tanned leather goods, handcrafted across four Tuscan workshops.

Tuscany Leather is the export-facing brand of Rossotoscana, a Tuscan leather house built by the Altavilla family, who brought their background in marketing and international distribution to a craft that had mostly stayed local.

Production stays close to home: four factories across Tuscany turn out full grain and vegetable tanned leather goods, still cut and finished by hand, with in house engraving and personalization offered on request.

In 2011 the company won Unicredit's OK Italia prize, recognizing Tuscan businesses that carried the region's craft abroad. That's more or less still the mission: the same goods once sold only nearby now ship to customers in 190 countries.
